This annual initiative brings together a selection of outstanding picture books chosen by curators and specialists from various countries, who select their favorite works throughout the year. The final list includes one hundred titles from around the world, which are exhibited at the fair and in digital format, aiming to offer a diverse and updated panorama of global illustrated book production. Additionally, "Vida y obra de algunas nubes" by Hernán Ronsino with illustrations by Christian Montenegro, and "La manzana" by Marcos Farina, were included in "The BRAW Amazing Bookshelf," an exhibition that is part of the Bologna Ragazzi Awards. This exhibition brings together 150 books from 43 countries, previously selected for the awards, and is presented at the Salaborsa Library, with the purpose of highlighting works especially valued by international juries and promoting editorial and cultural diversity. Founded in 2014 by Lulu Kirschenbaum and Manuel Rud, Limonero specializes in illustrated books that combine literature, art, and graphic experimentation. Its catalog ranges from visual poetry to illustrated narrative, with proposals for readers of all ages. The publisher was already recognized in 2019 as the best children's publisher in Latin America at the Bologna Fair, consolidating a trajectory that includes international awards and mentions. The recent recognitions reaffirm the presence of Argentine production in the global circuit of children's and young adult literature, and highlight the contribution of independent projects to contemporary creation.
